Presented at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery during Milan Design Week 2026, Aura is a seat that explores the tension between primitive force and design control. It begins as a continuous gesture: a line that twists, wraps and compresses until it generates a structural form. More than a chair, it is a mark in space — dynamic, only seemingly unstable, yet deeply rooted in the logic of its material.
Made of forged wrought iron, welded and then brushed, the seat reveals a process that brings design back to an almost archaic dimension, where the project measures itself directly against the resistance of the material. The marked, finished surface retains the traces of handwork, turning every piece into a unique element suspended between craft and sculpture.
“With Aura I wanted to work on the strength of the gesture and the memory of matter. Iron, bent and worked, is not only structure but narrative: every curve is the result of a tension, every mark a trace of the process.” — Andrea D’Antrassi
